Apple Pie

Today is my dad's birthday!
He likes apple pie and I baked one for him.
But I have to disappoint you: I didn't bake a german one.
I discovered Martha Stewart's website one year ago and fell in love with it.
We don't have anything comparable to Martha and her show in Germany. Yes, we have cooking shows and some shows about how to make your home a nicer place but well, we don't have a Martha.

Here you can find the recipe of the apple pie I made.

First I did the basic pie dough, cut it into half, put it into plastic wrap and refrigerated it for 1 hour.

Then I peeled and cut the apples. I put some lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, salt and flour over the apple slices. (When I use american recipes I leave out half of the sugar because for germans it's too sweet!)

After 1 hour I rolled out two disks and put one over/into the plate. I filled in the apple mixture ....

...and rolled the second disk over them.
With a floured knife I cut 6 slits in the dough.
I put it in the oven and ...

...voilà! This is what it looks like when a German bakes an american apple pie.
