Squirrel!!!

Just a few moments ago I heard our squirrel (it lives in our garden) squeaking. I had to look what's going!
Our cat was sitting under the elder looking up to the little fella! So here are some pics:

kitty-kat

Yesterday evening he came in after playing on the balcony carrying a mouse ... we live on the 7th floor. I have no idea where he found it (I think I don't really want to know either).

Farmers market

It was farmers market this saturday. I drank my first new wine, something between grape juice and wine. Yummy!

"New Wine"
Artichoke
Yes, a padded badger next to sausages. I don't know why.... :D
Egg noodles
Fruit liqueur
Germans like painted pumpkins.
You also can buy several brushes and scrubbers.

Bad Dürkheim

I wanted to go to the flea market in Bad Dürkheim. I walked with my husband over the place but I didn't find anything pretty to make a photo of. It was just a normal german flea market with old stuff, most of the time ugly stuff.
So we decided to walk through Bad Dürkheim and I took some pictures.

This shows a statue of a winemaker with a basket on his back at the grape harvest.
Bad Dürkheim is a city on the Germany Wine Route.

This is the park next to the hotels.

At the "Römerplatz" (Roman Place)

I was surprised to see this little one! I thought parkometers were "extinct"!

Myriam, our friends and myself will go to Bad Dürkheim next weekend because then there is the biggest wine festival in the world. Of course we will make some pics for you.

my polaroid and me... it's complicated

Say hello to my Polaroid camera.

I was super happy when I got it as a gift for my birthday last year (despite the films being quite expensive). This is a used one. While Polaroid stopped manufacturig films, there is a new company which produces and sells them: The Impossible Project. So I scraped some money together and bought the PX 680 Color Shade Cool

I was so eager to finally try out my new camera that I ignored the high price and the fact that you only get to snap 8 pictures with those films.

The first photo turned out quite alright and just the way I expected it with faded colors and that signature retro look:

In the second photograph you can already see a brown spot in the left corner. Not nice.

Tony got scared and ran off due to the
strange noises the camera makes :)

So far I took 5 pictures and that hideous blotch seemed to grow with each photograph so that the fifth one looks like this:

Modern Art

Uhm, okay that really frustrated me. I'm no Polaroid expert and my internet research provided no answer whether this is the camera's or the film's fault, either.

I got 3 pictures left and I somehow got the feeling that the brown spot will grow all over them, which is really sad considering the money I spent on the film.

My day in pictures

"Erkenbert" ruin in my homecity.

With Billy at the Rhine. He is the dog of a friend and I take care of him sometimes.
It's  a lot of fun watching him jumping in the water.

Vineyards are surrounding the village I grew up. I visited my family for dinner this evening.

shark in the park

Chris loves summer flowers, I enjoy sharks ... in parks. Wait, what? I discovered this little fella some time ago in my home town  while walking to the bus station and just had to snap a picture since I do not encounter sharks that often.
Afterwards, I figured out that a local museum had the idea to put this guy in the park, alongside other sea creatures scattered all over the town, to promote an exhibition about, well ... sea creatures :)
